Call for articles for APM #38

Australian Puppeteer No. 38 is due at the end of this month. Vicki Jaeger is editing this edition. The deadline for submissions is Monday 15th June. Please send news, reviews, articles, photos, letters and so on to Vicki.

You can send updates about what you are doing (puppetrywise), but please don’t send general press releases. Cabaret Decadanse at the Opera House

Cabaret Decadans, who were a great success at Perth's UNIMA 2008, are in Sydney from 17-20, appearing at the Sydney Opera House Playhouse. Tickets are $39/$34 + booking fee.

Book now on (02) 9250 7777 or  online.

'Camp, cool, quirky and quintessentially Canadian, Cabaret Décadanse uses the universal language of music and movement to create a steamy, after-dark nightclub world of cabaret singers, transvestites, gigolos and dancers.

These three maestro puppeteer-dancers create a weightless ballet against a haunting musical backdrop. With few props and simple lighting, they skilfully manipulate the cast of colourful characters into a magical piece of mime, masque and puppetry.

"Think of Priscilla Queen of the Desert meets Moulin Rouge done with puppets and written by Pedro Almodovar, and you're half-way there." Evening News, Edinburgh'

Duration: 70 minutes with no interval.

Corporate Creatures Business News

Official spokesman, Con Quest introduces Corporate Creatures Business News, Gary Friedman's latest puppetry venture, which harnesses the powerful age-old tradition of puppetry with a 21st century makeover to communicate issues within the business environment.

While the puppets themselves are larger-than-life, their workplace and the situations they face are relevant to everyone.By using the puppet, we provide a non-threatening format in which the audience is entertained while the key messages are still being strongly communicated. We can effectively tackle issues that everyone is thinking about, but no one is comfortable discussing - sensitive subjects such as personal concerns, bullying and sexual harassment in the workplace.

MrQuest has also announced that he will be conducting interviews with prominent business and world leaders weekly and the first such interview can be found on his blog at CCBN here!
Mr Quest and his team are all listed as Face Book devotees. You can find Con's FB page here
He is also asking all interested to add him as a friend and to subscribe to his NEWS listing here!
